This piece was designed to be used as part of the “No More,” campaign created by the Joyful Heart Foundation. The Joyful Heart Foundation was established in 2004 by Mariska Hargitay. Today, their mission is to heal, educate and empower survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse. One of the current areas of concern for the foundation is the growing rate of rape on college campuses and how poorly educational institutions are dealing with this growing epidemic. Currently, most institutions of higher learning are failing to adequately deal with issues of prevention and prosecution of sex crimes on campus, as well as issues surrounding how to adequately support the survivors of these crimes during their journey to recovery. Due to the sensitive nature of this topic, I chose to render this Public Service Announcement in a "naive," vector style, in order to help visually communicate this dark subject with clarity, impact and tact. These boards illustrate portions of the entire 90 second PSA.
